IMPORTANT! the fan of most Portable Air Conditioners remains on and operates even when air conditioner function & compressor is off. Fan remains active and working in order to keep compressor and internal parts cool. This helps prevent components from freezing or overheating.
There are a number of issues that could be causing the fan to be noisy. Please see below.
- Loose panel door. A cabinet or panel is not properly screwed in. Simply adjust and secure is a rattling occurs due to loose hardware.
- Debris in unit. A rattling noise may occur due to loose debris from the exhaust hose or filters. Clean or replace filters if necessary and remove any clogs or debris located in exhaust hose.
- Misaligned fan. A fan could be misaligned or improperly installed inside the unit. In this case, contact Customer Service or Submit a Request (located in the top right of our webpage) regarding repair or replacement of unit.
- Damaged motor or compressor. Loud rattling or vibration could be caused due to damaged parts inside the unit. Contact Customer Service.
