There are a number of issues that could be causing the unit to not turn on. Please see below.
- Check to make sure dehumidifier is plugged in securely. Always check by removing the plug, waiting 10 seconds, then plugging unit in again securely.
- Machine is not plugged in correctly.
- Make sure plug is properly plugged into a grounded outlet. Contact an electrician if 3-prong grounded outlets are not available.
- Check for a blown circuit or fuse. A main circuit breaker may have been tripped due to electrical requirements.
- Test the outlet with another appliance if circuit breaker is operating properly.
- The dehumidifier has reached its present level or the bucket is full.
- The dehumidifier will automatically shut off when either conditions occurs.
- Change the setting to a lower setting or empty the water bucket and replace properly.
- Water collection bucket is not in the proper position.
- The bucket must be in place and securely seated for the dehumidifier to operate.
- Power failure.
- There is a protective time delay up to 3 minutes to prevent tripping of the compressor overload. For this reason, the unit may not start normal dehumidification for 3 minutes after it is powered back on.
After the above checks and tests, if the unit continues to not power on, the unit may have a fault or defective component. If this is the case, please Contact Customer Service or Submit a Request on this site (located on the top right of the webpage) to request a replacement unit. We are sorry for the inconvenience and would appreciate your patience in resolving this matter.
